They say it makes it easy, life will be a breeze,
“Just try it once, it’ll put you at ease.”
But soon it’s a habit, a dangerous game,
One little choice, and nothing’s the same.
Neither pills nor drink will soothe the pains,
And that one decision will trap you in chains.
It’s all you will want for the rest of your life,
Just like someone else is in control by holding a knife.
Don’t take that sip, don’t swallow that pill,
It promises peace, but it never will.
Your feelings are real, don’t push them away,
Though dark clouds come, there’s light in the day.
We wish the hurt and sorrow would cease,
But that road won’t ever lead to peace.
I know it’s hard when life feels so tight,
But keep moving forward, you’ll be alright.
Though you may doubt and feel there’s no out,
Trust in strength, it can conquer doubt.
Keep your head high, and you will stay strong,
For you’ll find your place in which you belong.
