If You Were Still Here

If you were still here, the world wouldn’t feel wrong,
The days would be brighter, the nights not so long.
Your smile would fix what feels broken inside,
And there’d be no need to hide the tears that were cried.

The jokes would still come, the ones no one gets,
Secrets could be shared, no fears, no regrets.
The things that feel lost wouldn’t hurt as much,
With your love, your laugh, your loving touch.

The world feels smaller without you here,
Every smile seems fake, every joy unclear.
There’s a question that lingers, “Why did you go?”
But the answer is one, no one will know.
